The Tiger Damselfish is a very unique and interesting to look at damsel. Tiger Damselfish have a mostly white body with three strong vertical black stripes, hence its name.
Tiger Damselfish reach a maximum adult size of around 4 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 30 gallons. Tiger Damselfish are aggressive fish, but shouldn't bother most other fish, corals or inverts. This makes the Tiger Damselfish a good addition to reef tanks.
When introduced early to an aquarium, Tiger Damsels will stake their territory and defend it fiercely. For this reason it is advised to add a Tiger Damselfish late in your stocking list. If you have a larger tank, you should be fine adding a Tiger Damselfish at any point. Tiger Damselfish are very hardy fish and are a good choice for beginner aquarists.
Tiger Damselfish are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality flake and pellet foods and high quality frozen food will keep your Tiger Damselfish healthy and happy.
